HUG 2016 Begins: What You Need to Know

Here’s a surprising stat: The majority of apps we’ll use in five years’ time haven’t even been invented yet.

HBS President John Rajchert shared this detail when he helped kick off the 2016 Honeywell Users Group Symposium — also known as HUG — on Monday, June 6, noting technology is ever changing the way we live and work. And if you lead an organization or manage a facility, staying on top of technology trends and getting the most out of them to solve business challenges can be an overwhelming task.

However, as Rajchert noted, “Honeywell is obsessed with leveraging the latest technology trends to enhance your business and help you get the most out of your buildings.”

For attendees at the 14th annual HUG, the week ahead is full of opportunities to learn more about how to use technology to gain more value from your building operations.

Here’s how to get the most out of your experience at this year’s event:

  • Review the HUG agenda and have a plan. There’s no one-size-fits all experience at HUG; it’s what you want to make of it based on your organization’s needs and the challenges you’re looking to tackle.

  • Visit the Connected Buildings Center (CBC). With 14,000 pounds of equipment, the CBC is home to expert insights and the latest technology — from mobile applications to the new Honeywell EBI R500 building management system. Stop by to try out the latest in connected technologies.

  • Stay connected from your mobile device. Download the HUG mobile app and engage on social channels the hashtag #HUGBuild. You’ll find us at @HoneywellBuild and the new Honeywell Buildings LinkedIn page. You can also check out other feature stories and videos we’ll be posting from our website.

  • Network, network, network. Consider these numbers: 392 Honeywell customers — including 198 first-time attendees — representing 227 companies and 18 countries. This year’s event boasts record attendance and represents an opportunity to make meaningful connections.

Here’s to a great week ahead!
